It’s October and you know what that means – Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before you know it! At least the stores seem to think so, if you go by the Christmas decorations next to the Halloween costumes.
Well, we aren’t quite ready to skip to Christmas yet here at the Dodd PTA. October is a busy month, full of all kinds of fun activities. Here are some of the things going on this month:
October 5 – tomorrow is National Walk/Bike to School Day! Let’s get some exercise and enjoy the cooler weather on your way to and from school. http://www.walkbiketoschool.org/
October 6 – 14 – the Fall Book Fair! Your kiddo will probably come home this week with a wishlist of books. There will be one family night on Thursday, October 13, from 5pm – 8pm.
October 10 – Fair Day! Enjoy a day off from school and check out the state fair. It’s worth it just for the food alone! http://bigtex.com/food/
October 13 – 4th Grade musical and Austin trip meeting.
October 19 – Fall picture retakes and Wylie Way: Day of Unity.
October 20 – Teacher luncheon – if you are interested in signing up to bring food, let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll add you to the list!
October 26 – Spirit Night at Orange Leaf – come enjoy yummy frozen yogurt! http://orangeleafyogurt.com/wylie-tx
October 28 – Wow, what a busy day this will be! We have our first classroom parties at 1:45 p.m., and our Boo Bash at 6:30. More information will be coming about the Boo Bash as we get closer – you will not want to miss it! Today is also the end of our PTA Membership drive!
October 31 – Halloween! We will be passing out our “You’ve been boo’d” lollipops today to all those people who got boo’d! You should have gotten an order form in your child’s folder, but they are also available on our forms page so you can print and turn in as many as you’d like – each “boo” is only $1 each!
The canned food drive also starts this month as Wylie Way gears up for Thanksgiving. More details to come.
Have a great month everyone!
